Description
Photograph of an old baptismal font at Mission San Luis Rey de Francia, California, ca.1904. A cover with a cross on it sits atop the cracked and partially crumbling hourglass-shaped font which stands on the floor. A small brightly patterned rectangular cloth hangs from something on the plain wall visible behind the font. A tablecloth covers a tiny table visible at left. Several stones are set into the floor acting as a slightly raised platform in front of the font in the foreground.
