Description
Photograph of the Los Angeles County Railroad engine Ivanhoe stopped at Sister's Hospital on Sunset Boulevard, ca.1887. The engine is shown facing left with its passenger car trailing it to the right. At center, people are boarding at the gap between the engine and the car. Two women in long dresses stand on the ground in front of the train, their dog between them. The leftmost woman holds a parasol, next to a man who is leaning on the engine. The conductor, Charles Prudhomme, is visible behind them. Men can be seen at the front of the passenger car, as well as the back of the engine. A mansion can be seen on the hill in the background. A second rail car is visible to the left behind the Ivanhoe.
