Photograph of a family in front of the E.C. Shipley residence, 1888. At center, three adults and two children are dispersed on the porch and the lawn of the home. At left, a woman in a hat stands under a tree, while at right, a second woman sits in a chair with two children flanking her. In the background, a man stands on the porch steps of the two-story Victorian-style home. A later photo, 1894, shows the family living at 744 East 8th Street.
