Description
Photograph of a drawing by H.W. Hansen, "Crossing the plains; the indians' use of firearms and firewater", depicting pioneers coming across a ravaged wagoneer, [s.d.]. Eight pioneers stand at the head of a train of covered wagons, where they have found the smoking remains of a horse-drawn cart. The wagon-driver's legs are visible in the wagon, with the horse laid dead to the side. Mountains are visible along the horizon in the background. The surrounding terrain appears to be desert.
