Description
Photograph of a drawing by Edward Vischer depicting the Franciscan Old Mission Church at Mission San Buenaventura, 1865. In the foreground a man and a woman ride a horse while two women stand on the path to the church nearby whose roof is covered by terracotta tiles. Two other figures stand near the main entry to the church while a bell tower stands tall between the church and the lower building, a covered porch to the right of it. Trees grow in front of the mission and behind a wall at left. The text below the image reads: "The Franciscan old Mission church of San Buenaventura and the parish church of the Catholics".
