Description
Photograph of Father Superior O'Keefe standing in the ruins of the mortuary chapel of Mission San Luis Rey de Francia, California, 1904. Portrait from the chest up. He is wearing a Franciscan robe and clutches a book in his left hand against his chest. He has heavy jowls covered with short white stubble and short whispy white hair on his head. He is looking up to his left. Behind and beside him, the underlying stone structure of the walls is visible as the stucco has mostly fallen off.
