Photograph of a man and a woman at a golf course, ca.1920. A man can be seen on the left, dressed in a suit, smiling towards the direction of the women to his right while holding a golf club; the club is being held out from a golf bag and other clubs are visible in it. The woman to his right, is sitting on the armrest of a straw bench and smiling at the man, while touching one of the golf clubs in the bag. She is wearing a semi-formal one-piece dress. A golf course can be seen extending in the background, along with trees and hills that fill in the backdrop.

Title Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce Collection 1890-1960

Description The more than 3,600 unique photographs of this collection document the Chamber's promotional efforts during the city's early years. In addition to stock photographs, there are pictures of the elaborate booths and displays that the Chamber prepared for use at state fairs and international trade shows. The photographic collection contains images showing the growth of important municipal enterprises, such as ground transportation systems, aviation, and shipping. In addition there are about 1,000 lantern slides in this collection -- not yet fully digitized.
