Photograph of the Young Women's Christian Association (YWCA), 941 Figueroa Street, before 1940. "Left to right: Administration and Health Unit Building of theYoung Men's Christian Association (YMCA) and Hotel Figueroa. The administration building houses the administration offices, free employment bureau, room registry, business girls headquarters, Girl Reserve Department and the Health Department with its Plunge and Gymnasium. The hotel was built to meet the needs of girls and women. Both buildings are on one lot, and will be lost to the YWCA unless it is successful in its $300,000 campaign starting March 30th." -- typed noted attached to verso. Belmont Apartments in background, unidentified man in emply lot adjacent to parking lot. Automobiles parked in parking lot and on street.
