Description
Photograph of a view of Spring Street looking north from below Third Street in Los Angeles, ca.1918. Spring Street is at center and heads away from the viewer before disappearing into the distance. There are two sets of streetcar tracks running down the middle of the road, and a streetcar is visible at center. Several horse-drawn vehicles are making their way down the street, and two early-model automobiles are parked in the foreground, one on each side of the road. The Lankershim Building is at right and the Stimpson Building and Ramona Hotel are at left.
Legible signs include, from left to right, "309 Cutlery", "Automobile for Rent", "Germain Building", "Globe-Wernicke Plastic", "West Ninth Street", "American [¿] Bank", "Merchants National Bank:, and "Naumann & Sch[¿]".
