Collection Description
650 photoprints from 15 notebooks (4 California State Highways books, 6 Los Angeles City books, 5 Los Angeles County books) from the Archive of the Automobile Club of Southern California. Two prints are attached to each page with photo-album corners. A typed narrative description of each photograph is adjacent to each image (2-3 sentences). The notebooks date from 1922 through 1941. The images principally document road condition, safety, construction and maintenance.
