Two dirt roads intersect in the foreground at center, and several large buildings can be seen around the intersection. In the background, many residential buildings can be seen on top of Bunker Hill, which rises steeply above its surroundings. A harness and saddlery shop can be seen in the foreground at left, while a livery and feed yard is visible at right. Fort Street would later be known as Broadway. Please note that despite the handwritten note, the photograph could not be taken any earlier than ca.1884, based on the presence of the J.G. de Turk's Livery, Feed and Sale Stable on the northwest corner of First Street and Broadway, a building partly visible in the middle at very right.
