Description	Photograph of an aerial view of the Los Angeles Civic Center, looking west and showing a freeway under construction, ca.1953. City Hall and its tall tower can be seen in the foreground at left, and the Federal Building is visible at center. Running vertically across the image at right is a wide freeway, crossed in several places by bridges. Temple Street runs parallel to the freeway at center. Scores of small buildings are densely packed between large streets in the distance, and hundreds of cars can be seen navigating the network of roads.
