Behind a wire fence, the yard is dotted with trees and other plants in bloom. Roses are present. The dwelling is two stories high, principally made of wood, and has two chimneys.; "The many friends of Mrs. Jessie Benton Fremont will be glad to learn that the women of California have raised funds for purchase of a lot and the erection of a home to be presented as a testimonial of love and esteem to the worthy wife of the illustrious Pathfinder.
