Photograph of Captain Frye's (aka Captain Charles Fryatt) ship, which was sunk in the raid on the Belgian port of Zeebrugge in World War I, ca.1915. The ship, known as the S.S. Brussels, is partially submerged at center, with only part of the bow and the superstructure still above water. Two tall smokestacks are near the center of the ship, and a tall crane mounted near the bow has fallen over backwards. The ship does not appear to be armed and its lifeboats are missing from their racks. The remains of another ship are visible behind the stern of Frye's ship at right.
