Photograph of an elevated view of Spring Street, looking north from near Ninth Street, February 25, 1931. Numerous automobiles can be seen below, driving or parked on Spring Street, and a street car can be seen driving down the center of the street. People can also be seen walking on the sidewalk, below. In the lower right corner, two bicyclists can be seen riding their bicycles in the right lane down Spring Street. Many tall buildings tower over the street, although the perspective is such that most of the buildings on the left side are obscured from view, while a long line of buildings can be seen along the right side of the street, all the way to the vanishing point, at middle left. Every building on the right side of Spring Street appears to be uniform in height. Note: this photograph is similar to CHS-36934.; Legible signs read: "German American Bank", "[...] Lane mortgage building", "State Mutual", "Corporate office building", "Great Republic Life", and "Central auto park".
