Photograph of the exterior view of the Allen and Huck Market from across the street, ca.1940. The market building, which resembles a tiered cake with what appears to be a cupola, can be seen at left at the corner of Vermont Avenue and 81st Street. A large sign located on the second tier reads, "Shoppers Wise Patronize Allen and Huck". The structure extends to an archway a little right of center that leads to the parking lot and the storefront of Dilbert's Café. On the sidewalk in front of the building are what appear to be produce stands, as well as street lights and a bench. At least six vehicles are parked to the right. To the far right, past the vehicles, a billboard shows an artist's rendering of four silhouettes skiing on the side of a mountain. The billboard reads, "let's go". A number of power lines are attached to two visible utility poles. Duplicate picture file card reads "Parades and Festivals" and "Tournament of Roses, Pasadena".
