Debris and an unhitched palate cart stand in the foreground in the dusty yard. Behind them, wooden scaffolding stands in front of a double-doored building with tall windows and clapboard siding and a flagpole extending from the roof, likely Town Hall. Longer, less decorated wooden buildings stand to the right, the second, darker building at the far right positioned at a right angle to the others; this appears to be a stable of some sort.
