Photograph of the hall and altar of the Mission San Juan Bautista, ca.1900. The interior of a long adobe chapel is shown; spackle is crumbling from the walls in some spots, exposing brick. Archways are intented into the walls at regular intervals, with what appear to be paintings hanging from both the arches and their pillars. A small cross has been affixed to the wall at the top of each pillar. At the end of the hall, two rows of pews and the altar are shown, six life-size statues of religious figures carved into the end wall. Candles decorate the pulpit. Text in the bottom right of the image identifies the mission as "Founded June 24, 1797".
