Photograph of a map of Hollywood by H.H. Wilcox and Co., 1887. The two-part map is separated into both a graphic block map showing the layout of the city with an inlaid picture of the Hotel Hollywood, and a topographical perspective shot of the city shown from birdseye view which includes the mountains that the overlapping block map does not. Beneath the ornately written title on the topographical map which reads "Map of Hollywood" is a picture of a mansion under which the script reads "Residence of H.H. Wilcox." Beneath this is the text "For Particulars / apply to / H.H. Wilcox & Co. / Los Angeles, Cal." also written ornately. A list of sites of interest inscribed to the right of the block map reads "References: / 1 Hotel Hollywood. / 2 Residence of H.H. Wilcox. / 3 Hollywood Depot. / 4 Business Block of H.D.[...]. / 5 Mt. Wittier. / 6 Hotel Hollywood. / 7 City Reservoir. / 8 Soldier's Home. / 9 Santa Monica. / 10 Ballona Harbor. / 8 Sunset Hotel.".
