Photograph of the Woodhead Residence on the corner of North Broadway and College Street, Los Angeles, 1883. A brick, Romanesque building sporting a rosetta window on the roof over the entrance faces the camera, surrounded by a dilapidated garden. A small dirt path enters in from the lower left, cutting past the remnants of two post-and-rail fences, the left of which has attached to it what appears to be a small post-box. A trellis, over which a few climbing roses are growing, has been built on the side of the house near an arched entranceway. The ground is dusty and fallow and grassless for the most part, growing what appear to be only weeds. Scraggly bushes seem to be dry and obscure much of the right side of the photo. Several tall stakes criss-cross each other on the left side of the house. Picture file card reads "Built by Mullally".
