Description	Photograph of a Joaquin Miller sitting on the porch of his home in Oakland, ca.1890-1910. Known as the "Poet of the Sierras". He is wearing a wide brimmed hat, jacket, trousers, boots, and leather gloves with a fringe. He has a long flowing white beard with moustache. He is crouching in front of the open doorway on the raised porch. A moon with moonbeams is depicted in a carving above the door. Small trees and bushes grow closely around the house. A second building is visible in the right background. Miller lived from 1837-1913 and was born Cincinnatus Hiner Miller.
