Photograph of Mission San José y San Miguel de Aguayo in San Antonio, Texas, showing ruined interior of its church, ca.1898. In the foreground at left, a large ruined and deteriorated wall can be seen. At center, a half-dome structure is visible with a small entryway and broken window. Above the ruined walls, the top of the bell tower can be seen. At the apex of the bell tower, a decorative cross is visible. This was the second mission in San Antonio. The mission was founded on February 23, 1720 and named in part for the Marquis de San Miguel de Aguayo, José de Azlor y Virto de Vera.
