She is wearing a dark dress with a dark hood that covers her head and reveals only her face and part of her hand. She was born at the Pueblo de Los Angeles on November 6, 1821 and died in Santa Barbara on November 22, 1856. She was the daughter of Jose Antonio de la Guerra y Noriega. Her baptismal name was Ana Maria de Alta Garcia Leonora and she married Alfred Robinson, the historian, at Santa Barbara on January 24, 1836. This was the wedding described by Dana in "Two Years Before the Mast".
