Description	Photograph of an exterior view of an unidentified oil refinery, showing rows of spherical tanks, ca.1940. Short, metal fences separate the sandy yards at center which each support a spherical tank. The tank at center is supported by a thick, metal frame which is imbedded in a concrete, octagonal platform directly below it. A tall staircase extends from the ground on the left up to a small platform at the center of the visible surface of the sphere. A second, winding staircase continues from the platform and curves to the machine which sits at the sphere's top. Beyond the rows of these spheres lies a tree-spotted field contained by a thin road in the background.
