Description	Photograph of a drawing by Edward Vischer depicting the relais stables of the California Southern Overland Stage Line in San Luis Obispo, ca.1865. Several abandoned stage coaches stand in the left foreground near a pack of unsaddled horses, while a full coach hitched to a train of six horses makes its way tot the wooden barns in the distance, where a palm tree can be seen. A pile of something is contained by wooden grid work at the extreme left, in front of a rock face. Mountains are visible in the background. Text written-in below the image reads, "California Life and Traffic" and identifies the subject and area. Vischer's signature, which usually appears in the lower right of his drawings, is not visible.
