Dear Mr. Greene:
Thank you very much for your letter and for the
drawings which, incidentally, arrived a day ahead of the
letter.
The drawings of the D. L. James house are indeed
most interesting, and I am delighted to have them. I
wonder if at some time, at your convenience, you would be
so kind as to let me know the date of the house since it
would be valuable for the records to have this information
on file here.
I am interested in your account of Mrs. Harris1
association with the drawings, since I had heard some reports
along the lines you have indicated. It is too bad that she
has never finished the book.
Thank you for your offer of future drawings and plans.
As you have more opportunity, perhaps you could let me know
more specifically what is available. I doubt if we would
want to secure too much material on the furniture, but I suspect
a few typical examples of your father's design would be quite
appropriate. I think that this is perhaps a matter I should
discuss with our Library Committee, and I would be grateful
for more specific information.
Thank you again for all your interest and cooperation.
Sincerely yours,
George E. Pettengill
