My dear Mi. Graerie:
Thank you vexy much foi enclosing the bill for the
maible o&ips#
As fai as the house goes, matteis aie moving pietty
slowly, the doois and sashes aie being put in and presently we
will be face to face with such painting as can now be done.
Both Mis. Schevill and I have frequently felt how
tnvaluable youi suggestions and advice would be, but it seemed
lathei unfaii to put you to the tiouble of coming all the way
to make suggestions on these matteis. Of course, we do hope
to see you veiy soon, and though we may have been obliged to
modify some of the chaiming featuies of youi plans, we certainly
feel that, on the whole, you have made a singulaily beautiful
addition to the house; and some day, at youi convenience, I
want to discuss with you the financial side of oui indebtedness
to you foi the part which you played in what i& certainly to
piove one of the most unusual^ and attractive houses in Berkeley,
We all of us wish you might come up soon to see one
of Mi. Pichel's plays, and you certainly ought to be the first
guest to occupy the new bedroom, whenever that is ready for a
friend.
Believe me, very cordially yours,
RS-MM.
