Mr. C. Sumner Green,
Carmel, Cal#
Dear Sir:
We are in receipt of your letter of April 21st
in reply to ours of April 19th, We wish to state however
regarding this tile that we know that the Colorado Yule
marble is soft and for that reason you purchased same at
a very low price. You were looking for something on the
Cream White and inexpensive.
Furthermore after leaving this tile in the crates
for one year, it is hardly fair to come back at us for replacements. Much of this damage was done while the marble
was in transit and a claim should have been made against
the Steamboat Company. The other tile which you have set
are also Colorado Yule and are of more or less the s
quality as those you complain of.
already explained to you, our men are on a
strike and it will be necessary for us to procure these
tiles, paying an advanced price for same, over and above
the price you paid us amounting to $9.S5#
If you are satisfied to pay this charge, advise
us immediately, and we will ship the tile.
We remain,
Yours very truly,
