Los Angeles International Airport, March 3: Trans world Airlines feted it's one millionth transcontinental passenger here today when the airlines ambassador super constellation arrived this morning. Singled out for the honor was John F. Scanlon, who was accompanied on the flight by his wife. Was greeted at the airport by Woodruff De Silva (left) representing the city who delivered a telegram from Mayor Poulson extending a welcome to the city and congratulating Scanlon on being TWA's Millionth Transcontinental Passenger. Also on hand were Lee Flannigan. TWA's Assistant Director of Operations for the Western Region and one of the airlines pioneer transcontinental pilots and Frank S. Donant, District Sales Manager here for the airline who presented Mr. Scanlon with a piece of aluminum luggage commemorating the occasion. Mr. Scanlon, a New York City Detective, is here on a vacation first trip. This was his airplane ride".
