Top Academy Award contender Red Buttons, accompanied by his wife Helayne, arrives in Hollywood (Monday, the 13th) for a new movie role and carries with him an eloguent [sic] plea from all baseball fans to get the Dodgers set. Red will present the home plate he's carrying to Dodgers President Walter O'Malley. Red returned from New York where he was named "Celebrity of the Year" by the Friars Club in New York. 1957 was a great comeback year for Buttons whose portrayal in "Sayonara" is being applauded as a leading bet for an Academy Award nomination. Buttons starts work next week in a starring role in 'Imitation General' at MGM".
