Chosen by graduating students from among more than 360 nominees, each professor received $1,000 as tangible recognition of the importance of the teaching profession and the respect and acclaim it deserves. In the foreground (left) is Dr. Frank Baxter, professor of English, authoritty on Shakespeare, and winner of seven Emmys. Dr. Baxter, who has been at USC for 31 years, is retiring this year.
