The May Company is on the left side of the photo, towards the center. Further down the street is the Southern California Music Company.; "Broadway 'Canyon' as it appears today, looking north from Ninth street, almost solidly lined with limit-height shops, theaters and office buildings, with new ones rapidly replacing older constructions" -- Examiner clipping attached to verso, dated, "September 20, 1930".
