Frederick Selmer, famous Norwegian contractor, arrived in Los Angeles today from Oslo via Scandinavian and United Air Lines. The head of F. Selmer, Inc., will visit friends and business associates here before proceeding to Australia where his firm has been awarded a 3 1/2 million pound (approximately 7 1/2 million dollars) contract by the Australian government to build several dams and tunnels in Southern Australia. The Norwegian builder, who celebrates his 75th birthday here today, says that 400 Norwegian workers will be flown from Oslo to Sydney to work on the projects there.
