Newspaper, 1935, Los Angeles Times Building, interior Globe Lobby, Times Mirror Square, 202 West 1st St. (between Broadway and Spring Streets). The various steps in the production and distribution of a newspaper are shown through vignettesm from the writer working at his desk to the paper boy and delivery truck. A second mural across the room shows images from the history of Los Angeles. In 1961 the murals were covered with aluminum panels when the building was modernized. However, renewed interest in the work of Hugo Ballin and the art of the WPA era led to their restoration, completed in 1990. Oil on canvas, 2 panels, 10' x 27' (each). by Hugo Balln.
