Dear Mr. Hyun:
The long enclosed letter written in Korean will show
you general situation here. It has been written in
absolute confidence and I -ant you to destroy it after
you have read it. Do not show it to anybody because
it will cause an embarrassment, if you do. The reason
why I send you this is because you ought to know the
actual situation here in order to maintain out work.
Please explain it clearly to Dr. Jaisohn. He ought to
know it also.
I asked you to send me some money last time when I wrote
your But iince then, I thought it would not be right
for me to receive any allowances while all the other
membeBs of the Government arc receiving nothing. The
Government feterl does not give me any money and I do not
\know how to get along without money, at least for board
\ and room. B. G. Lyhrn went back" to the States through
Euroje. I gave him *6cc for his traveling expense. May
I take thle money as part of Lyhrnfs fare or shall I use
it as my living expense while here? In this matter I
will decldeas you may advise me to do. Think over what
the peo:le will say about it and let me know.
Do you best to defend our work in Hawaii, Euro]e and
America.
Yours very trulv,
«?
