If you have filed an application for medical insurance with the Social Security Administration under
Title XVIII of the Social Security Act, (the Medicare Program), you may receive a premium notice
for the months ©f July, August, and September 1966, Benefits commence July 1, 1966.
if you are not receiving monthly payments under Social Security, or Railroad Retirement, you may
safely ignore the premium notice. The State of California will pay these premiums for you under
the new California Medical Assisl tnce Program, as long as you are rece rblic Assistance. If
you are now receiving monthly Social Security or Railroad Retirement benefits, you will not receive
a premium notice, but a monthly deduction of $3.00 will be made from your payments to cover the
medical insurance. The first deduction will be made from the check you will receive on July 3, 1966.
