Group of the Governor's staff, missionaries and West African Ministers with a guard of honour formed by the Boy Scouts. Group includes Rev C W Armstrong, College Principal and college staff members Mr. Greaves, Vice-Principal, Ivan Blow [missionary] Rev Francis Grant [African Minister]; Mr. Waterworth and Mr Enim [Kumasi district]; Mr. Acquaah and Mr E. A Sackey [Sekondi district].; Methodist Missionary work in West Africa had begun in 1811 with Coke's mission to Sierra Leone. A second station was opened on the River Gambia in 1821, and on the Gold Coast in 1834.
