The woman who is standing is laying her right hand on the shoulder of the woman in front of her. The man [apparently Josua Jonker] is wearing a dark suit. His right hand is laying on the shoulder of the woman next to him.; Jozua Jonker (1851-1935), born in Elim and died in Mamre, was a voluntary evangelist of the Moravian mission and a teacher at Goedverwacht as well as Genadendal. He was promoted to the post of assistant minister and in 1901 ordained as minister. After 1903/04 he served as school principal and minister in Maitland until 1907. In 1902 he, together with two other South African helpers, namely Dietrich and Oppelt, bought the farm Karwyderskraal near Caledon which turned out to be an uneconomical enterprise.
