Title	An African family, Moshi, Tanzania, ca. 1900-1914
Description	"Christliche Negerfamilie in Moschi, Deutsch-Ost-Afrika." ("A Christian African family in Moshi, German East Africa."). A group of six persons: a man, two women (mother and grandmother) and three children (two girls and one boy). The father is standing while the rest of his family is sitting on a bench. In the background: palm trees.; Cf. Album 7, photo no. 49 "Eine christliche Familie" ("A Christian family"). -- Postcard published by the Leipzig Mission. -- The mission station in Moshi was founded in 1896. -- Probably photographed by Johannes Schanz (1876-1963), a missionary of the Leipzig Mission. He served in Moshi and Mamba from 1901 to 1910.
