Description	"In der Pause schreiben die Heilgehilfen an ihre Frauen." ("The health assistants are writing [letters] to their wives during a break."). Two African health assistants sitting on a mat are writing. In the background: a table full of phials and medical objects.; Elise Schärf (1892-?) was a missionary of the Herrnhuter Brüdergemeine. She was a deaconess and received training not only as a nurse but also in the care of mothers and lepers. She served from 1928 for many years at the leprosy hospital in Isoko.
