Description	Annotation translation: "Muslim graves in Sukamara. Note their princely decoration. a) has the reputation of being 'Karamat' as shown by the two small flags on each side of one of the posts (mesan). You see the two posts in many variations on every muslim grave. On mens' graves they are either round or have four cornners. On womens' graves they are flat [presumably: 'in profile']. The surrounding wall is called 'atan' and is especially nicely done in grave b) And on every one of the three [? - it is not clear what this 'three' indicates unless B-30.63.013 is part of the series] the muslimic confession is recorded in the arabic language."; Annotation: "Mohammedanische Gräber in Sukarama. Man sieht ihnen den 'fürstlichen' Anstrich wohl an. a) steht auch im Rufe des 'Karamat' was die beiden kleinen Fähnlein anzeigen zu beiden Seiten des einen Mesan (Pfosten). Die beiden Pfosten sieht man in manigfaltiger Variation auf jedem mohammedanischen Grab, bei männlichen Gräbern rund oder vierkant, bei weiblichen platt. Die Umfassung nennt man atang, sie ist bei b) besonders schön ausgeführt & trägt auf jedem der 3 Aufsätze das mohammedanische Glaubensbekenntnis in arabischer Sprache."; Note translation: NB the reference to "a" and "b" is presumably to be understood in terms of the "old number", B 0591 a & b, whereby B-30.63.011 is "a", and B-30.63.012 is "b".; Stamped: "Museum der Basler Mission Basel, Missionsstrasse 21."
