Title	A belfry, Mbeya, Tanzania, 1934
Description	"Ein Blick auf d. einfachen und doch festen Glockenstuhl. Er wurde nur von Eingeborenen errichtet. Allein bei dem Aufhängen der Glocke wussten sie sich keinen Rat und liessen mich noch schnell am Heiligabend holen, damit die Glocke Weihnachten einläuten könne." ("A view of the simple, but compact belfry. It was built solely by Africans, except that they did not know how to hang up the bell and quickly sent for me on Christmas Eve, so that the bell could ring at Christmas.") The thatched belfry is surrounded by some people. In the background: the church.; Cf. photo nos. 10602-10607. -- Werner Hauffe (1909-1982) was a carpenter and later a missionary of the Herrnhuter Brüdergemeine. From 1933 to 1939 he served in Rungwe, Utengule and Isoko. In Utengule, he was an assistant to Brother Gemuseus. In 1937 he married Irmgard Wolff.
