He served as headmaster from 1907 to 1916, as mission superintendent of Nyassa [Nyasa] Province from 1925 to 1930, as bishop from 1932 to 1939. Starting in 1939 he wrote a history of the mission in Nyasa Province ("Wechselnde Gezeiten an den Gestaden des Nyassa"). His wife was Mathilde, née Richter. See his publications: "Mission und Gold", Herrnhut 1936; "Ein Gebundener Jesu Christi (über Fiwombe)", Hamburg 1950; "Sakalija Mwakasungala", Hamburg 1953. -- Adolf Ferdinand Stolz (1871-1917) was a mission trader of the Herrnhuter Brüdergemeine in Ipanya from 1898 to 1902 and in Kyimbila from 1903 to 1914. He was responsible for the plantations in Kyimbila and Rutenganio. In 1898 he married Helene Elisabeth, née Kootz (1872-1899), in 1903 Anna, née Schulze.
