W. Blom." - Published (HB, Feb. 1884). - Text in Heidenbote: "Market place in the mohammedan quarter of Accra. This quarter is called 'Salaga' and small groups of mohammedans come and go, exchanging products bought in Salaga with those bought on the coast." - NB the exact meaning of the German is not clear to me here, but it seems to imply that they have a long-term involvement in this trade (PJ 12.1998).
