In der Klasse der Kleinsten und Liebsten war Peka ein liebes Sonnenscheinchen. Sie hat das Licht der Welt in einem 'königlichen Frauenhaus' erblickt und wächst auf als einziges Kind einer treubesorgten Mutter. Peka ist in der Schule ein kleines 'Genie'. Sie weiss mehr als manche ältere Schwester, arbeitet pünktlich und gewissenhaft zur Freude der Lehrerin und hat einen kleinen Ehrgeiz, der lobenswert und nachahmenswürdig wäre! Peka ist leider ein zartes Kind und oft krank. Da genügt es der kleinen Kranken nicht, dass die Mutter ihr Kind bei der Lehrerin entschuldigen will; das kleine, liebe Patientlein verlangt von einem Sklaven in die Schule getragen zu werden, damit sich die 'Mutter der Schule' davon überzeugen könne, dass Peka nicht 'für nichts' zu Hause bleibe." Geary 1988:122,135). - The King s daughter Peka, head and shoulders taken from the front. In the class for the smallest and sweetest, Peka was like a ray of sweet sunshine. She first saw the light of day in a royal wives house, and grew up as the only child of a mother who looked after her with great faithfulness. In the school Peka is a little genius . She knows more than many of her sisters who are older, her work was done promptly and conscientiously to the joy of her teacher, and she had a certain ambition, which was in itself praiseworthy and worthy of being emulated by others! Unfortunately Peka is a delicate child, and often sick. When she was sick it wasn t enough for her that her mother would send a message that her child was ill. The dear little patient asked a slave to carry her to school so that she could convince the mother of the school personally, that Peka was not staying at home for nothing. (A.
