1901- the first publication of her literary experiments; 1905 - 1907 she contributed to several satirical journals and newspapers such as "Russkoe slovo" and the first legal Bolshevik journal "Novaia zhizn'." When in 1905 Lenin took control of the journal she withdrew from the editorial staff; 1908 she began her collaboration with the satirical journal "Satirikon"; 1910-1918 the publication and republication of her almost yearly collections of stories made her one of the most published authors in Russia; 1919 Teffi left St. Petersburg and in 1920 settled in Paris, where she continued to write and publish in various Russian periodicals; 1952 she died in poverty in Paris.
