'      (COPEMO)STATES     THAT:
The  guerrilla  fighting  under the  direction  of  Coremo  have   recorded"
victorious   aaids  aha   ambushes  in  which many  Portugueses fascist  troops
were  inihilated   in  several  engagements  from May  the   2nd.To  August  the
3rd.1966.
THE  DISTRICT.
On  the  4th May  1966,   6  Portuguese  sldiers  en a   recoonaissan.ee  patrol
were  wiped   out  our by   Coremo  fightrrs   14  miles   from post  Fingoe   in  the
areu   of   Chief NsendaluzaiOn  the   I8th  on  the   same  month,Coremo  guerrillas
attacked   an  enemy  camp built   at   7  miles  from  the   post   of   Zumbo  killing
15  enemy  soldiers  and   seizing arms  and  ammunitions.On   the  19th June  1966.
a   trek  carrying  23  Portuguese   soldiers  was  ambushed  at   23  miles  from
post Fingoe.Following this  incident,an helicopter on a   recconnaissance
patrol  from Tete,waa  shot  down  7 miles  from post Mongue  on  the   21  st*of
the   same  month;the  pilot  and   six  other soldiers  on board  were  killed.On
the  14-th July  the   Portuguese   troops   attacked  a  base  belongiiig  tc   Coremo
patriotic  forces  in  the  area   of  Zambuejin  this  incident,Coremo  lost  13  *f
its  galant  fighters.On  the   29th  of  the  month,Coremo  guerrillas  attacked
the  Post   of  Zambue   inihilating  24  enemy  soldiers;in   this   operation,Coremo
also  lost   4  of  its  best   guerrillas.
After these   operations  by  Coremo  fighters,the   Portuguese  fascist
government   increased   its   indiscrimination killing.(2)two  batallions  were
brought  to  Tete  Distric   in  a  new move   to   try  to   suppress   the  activities
of  our  patriotic   forces•These   troops  have   been   stationed   in  many  parts
of  the  District.M ;re   than   (12)   camps  have  been  built  in  the  areas  o*
ZumboyZambue,Fingoe  and  Mongue;more  &$&  especially  in  areas   of   Chiefs;
Joao,Nyakaloto,Nsendaluzi  and  kasenga.This  is an area   covering borders
of   Zambia  have  been  oca structed   and   Fingoe-Zambue-Zumbo   road   under active  construction  entended  to  give  quifek  movements  of  the   enemy  troops>
NIASo^UILIMANS  DISTRICT.
Sh&  Coremo  guerrilla   fighters  in  these   areas   continue   to   score   many
victories.Daily  improvement  in  their skill  of  fighting  the  aggressive
forces  of  Salazer fascist   regime  have   incroased.From  many bases  areas  Jk&&&
have    been  established  and  also   the  number of  trained  guerrillas
increased.
In  all  these   engagementsftr,the  patriotic  forces  under the  directive  of
Coremo,have   inihilated   more   than   75   enemy  soldiers   and   Coremo-,lost   17
of  its  galant  fighters  in   the  field,while   serving  theirs  beloved   motherland. Mo re   than   (300)three  hundreds   of  innocent   and  defenceless  men*
women and  children have  been  indiscriminatedly killed  by  the  fascist
troops   and   the  number cf   those  arrestad   exceeds   one   thousand   (1000).
