MOZAMBIQUE REVOLUTIONARY COMMITTEE (COREMO) V. O. Box 1493, 180 Stanley Road LUSAKA. Republic of Zambia MEMORANDUM SUBMITTED TO THE 3RD ASSEMBLY OF THE HEADS OF STATE AND GOVERNMENT OF THE ORGANISATION OF AFRICAN UNITY ACCRA/GHANA 2lst — 27th October, 1965 ~Your Excellencies, In conformity with resolution adopted by the First Conference of Independent African Heads of State and Government, N. CIAS/PLEN. 2/REV. 2-A-Agenda Item II DECOLONISATION, Clause ( 10 ) which reads : — Earnestly invites all National Liberation Movements to co-ordinate their efforts by establishing common action fronts wherever necessary so as to strengthen ihe effectiveness of their struggle and the rational use of the concerted assistance given them, the Mozambique Hevolutionary Committee " COREMO " was formed by a merger of five (5) Liberation Movements namely: —the MQNOMOTAPA NATIONAL DEMOCRATIC UNION (UDENAMO ) MOZAMBIQUE AFRICAN NATIONAL UNION ( MANU) MOZAMBIQUE NATIONAL DEMOCRATIC UNION (UDENAMO) MOZAMBIQUE AFRICAN NATIONAL CONGRESS (MANC ) AND THE INDEPENDENT MOZAMBIQUE AFRICAN NATIONAL UNION (UNAMI) for the sole purpose of fighting fiercely against our common enemy. It is Our hope that tho sincerity and faithfulness or the member states of the O. A. U. bound by the Addis-Ababa Charter shall be the motivating factors to the recognition of THE MOZAMBIQUE REVOLUTIONARY COMMITTE ( COREMO) which is practically the product of the above mentioned resolution. We attach explanatory documents about the formation of (COREMO ) which shall be of essential reference, Your Excellencies. Conscious of the fact that you have been following carefully and anxiously the prevailing situation in MOZAMBIQUE where we are arduously engaged in a protracted armed struggle side by side with our forces and masses of the people against Portuguese imperialism, colonialism and neo-colonialism, we therefore refrain from unnecessary repetitions. We hope that this august gathering shall re-enlarge the total commitment by the O. A. U to the total, unconditional, just and immediate genuine Liberation of MOZAMBIQUE from Portuguese dictatorial regime and all vestiges of imperialism colcnnialism and neo-colonialism.
