2. territory has been liberated. b) In the liberated zone,., we have begun work on national reconstruction. V/e created schools, hospitals and we are improving agricultural production. PRSLIM0(MOZAMBIQUE LIBERATION FEOITT), is continuing the struggle for the realization of the aspirations of the Mozambican people: in the liberated zones, it is creating necessary conditions for the people, so that besides being free, may enjoy a much better life than in the regions still controlled by the Portuguese. Conditions are still difficult for the people because v/e are still at war, but our struggle accelerates. Our victories mount. In 1966, in an attempt to conquer us, the Portuguese Increased their troops' they sent from Portugal to Mozambique, thousands of soldiers $ they added to their expenses with the war*, they asked for assistance from their imperialist allies. Inspite of all that, the Portuguese forces continue to suffer defeats, v/hile the FRELIMO forces continue to score more victories. On the international sphere, Portugal is furthermore isolated: 1966, 73 countries, that is to say, 10 more countries than the past year, voted against the colonialist policy of Portugal. The United Nations recommended that all countries severe diplomatic relations and all kinds of economic and military aid to the Portuguese Government. All the progressive forces are on our side, the support for our struggle from other countries is growing. The year 1966 saw the death of two combatants- members of FRELIMO Central Committee. They were comrades Jaime Sigauke and Pilipe Magaia. They both passed away as heroes in the struggle and in the i£EV GLUT ION. That it be a source of inspiration and encouragementjior all the combatants*, their example brothers and comrades must serve as an example to the weak, to those who still hesitate to put their lives at the service of their people. In the coming year of 1967, FRELIMO'S program is to intensify the struggle, extending the armed struggle to the other provinces and consolidating the regions already liberated. In order that the struggle succeeds, it is necessary to strengthen our unity, to consolidate our organization, and be always present' at all moments ofv-the struggle as dedicated militants') disciplined, decided arid firm. ..*•''••• .;..>. Unity should be our-main preoccupation. Since the beginning of our struggle," the Portuguese Government always dwelt on pretenses that the Mozambicans will never unites that the Hozamblcan people- do not exist as such; that it v/as a tribal classification that always fought each other. They also state that on the disappearance of the Portuguese Government, there v/ould be a confusion of tribal wars.. Pamphlets dropped by the Portuguese attempt to set certain tribes against the others. . •■..'.• The Mozambican people, side by side, through their action, are now showing the falsity of tills colonialist propaganda: thousands of youths of all tribes are united under the banner of FRELIMO, are training, take up arms and fight against the common.../3
