I PRSLIRflO / MOZAMBIQUE LIBERATION FRONT Cto vAVvVIAAp ^f *j k>t No 101 CABO DELGADO PROVINCI 1. On the 14th of June 1967 a PRELIMO guerrilla unit on patrol spotted and ambushed a group of Portuguese soldiers, on the road of MUTAMBA DOS MACONDES, near the mission of IMBUHO. In this ambush 7 enemy soldiers were killed. 2. On the 24th of June, another guerrilla unit organised an ambush in the zone of MIGORA, between 3HALI and NAMRUCIA, south of the Messalo river. Ten Portuguese soldiers were put out of action. 3.; On the 26th of June, on the road of LIKAMA, a convoy of j 7 military lorries loaded with troops coming from LIKAMA I to MUEDA fell into an ambush organised by FRELIMO forces. I Our fighter let the front lorries pass and attacked the \ next 3? destroying them with bazookas and grenades. The | other lorries were loaded with the survivers, the dead and ] the wounded, and the Portuguese convoy continued on their I way. A few miles further on, they fell on the mines placed | in the road by the militias of NAMBWAVILA: the front lorry | was blown up. The Portuguese again picked up the survivors, ("t&eir dead and their wounded and proceeded, leaving on the l spot a sub-machine gun (made in Belgium) About one mile I further on one guerrilla who was waiting in an ambush | attacked the last lorry with•his sub-machine gun. In these j 3 actions 37 Portuguese soldiers were put out of action. 4.| On the 30th of June, at noon, FRELIMO guerrillas ambushed j a convoy of 4 military lorries, on the road between NAMBUDE I and MACIMBOA DA PRAIA. The last lorry, with the registration j number ME-52-86 was destroyed and assaulted. Our guerrillas ] captured one heavy machine-gun MG/42 Mo. 9767k, 7 drums full ] of oil and 2 sacks of clothes. In that lorry there were only \ the driver and one soldier,No. 10167/66, ANTONIO DE JESUS, | whose documents were captured. Both of them were killed by \ the explosion of the mine.
